Based in lovely, progressive Southern Vermont, Oak Meadow provides secular homeschooling curricula primarily to homeschoolers, but also to traditional schools looking to offer a different type of learning opportunity for their enrolled students. At the same time, Oak Meadow also offers distance learning from their own school in Brattleboro.

These multiple outlets left the Oak Meadow team feeling spread thin and concerned that their brand lacked cohesion across their channels. They also struggled with an image and messaging problem—as a completely unique organization with no direct competitors, they weren’t sure how to show or tell their story.

As part of the Gravity Switch agency, my initial scope of work for Oak Meadow involved creating a new logo. However, early in the process, we showed them the value and efficiency of doing a more robust rebrand up front, which culminated in a user-centric redesign of their website.

Some key highlights resulting from the project include:

— Strategizing and implementing creative solutions based on a 5-hour intensive with Oak Meadow’s core team to determine the organization’s goals, target audiences, problems, and potential solutions for improvement (G.A.P.S.)

— Developing a youthful, approachable design system and brand that appeals to their audiences and allows their content to be accessible.

— Designing a website with key components that both resonate with their audience and allow their most important content to be readily accessible, including an extensive FAQ area, student stories, and curriculum component that allows allows site visitors to see the depth of material offered
